He’s not just clever scientist, he’s a dangerous psychanalyst too. Cole being already mind-broken after years of suffering, he simply subdued her as if she was still a little child. While with Jon, he seize his idealistic views to promise a better future to his love ones.
“Gates” is a dangerous, even if we take away all his gadgetary and powers. His skills in masterminding are sky high.
Then why would he have told Cole he intends to obliterate both Kyri and Jon once he’s free ? No, i think he intends to restore the modern world without loosing his powers over time and space, thus becoming a god and easily conquering the world.
GATES motives at this point in the story are still a bit ambiguous by design. Which world is the correct one? Is it right to destroy the Endstone world?
As Darth KIller points out, he’s already threatened to obliterate Kyri and Jon. He apparently has no love for this family and world domination seems to be his motive.
After this current (and last) flashback tale, we’ll get more into GATES and what he ultimately wants and how the characters conflict with this.
You are correct. 🙂 And GOTES was the original acronym I used. But people were always commenting on how he looked like Bill Gates, and then I forget how, but GATES (God AT the Eternity Spire) just stuck.
