I know how Jon must be feeling.
It’s like when you stand atop of a high building looking down, thinking “My God,if I fall, there’ll be nothing left of me but a bloody pulp!”
Or like when you hold a gun, thinking how nice it would be if you suddenly lose it,grab that gun and start shooting everyone who ever hurt you…and then some more, just for kicks!
There’s terror in those thoughts….and excitement!
We all have a dark side which thrives on terror, insanity and death and for some,it’s much harder to control….especially when tempted, like Jon.

Could be like a One Ring kind of thing, being drawn to it like that. Maybe Helmet-Nerd is calling to him. 😉

Just a Reader – That’s a great summation of what Jon is feeling. Power, terror, and excitement.

Insectoid – Yes GATES did draw Colindra to the Banestone. So he has the ability to do that. And good point about the Lord of the Rings analogy. That’s obviously the blue-print for most fantasy stories. I’m just trying to put a new twist on it.

    MatDoz – Thanks! 🙂

Kouban and Roar. – Doh! I’ll fix that latter when I get a chance. Thanks
