Looks like Darth Killer was right on the mark… Kyri must’ave pulled the ol’ switcheroo and taken the Dragonstone. 😀

Now the designs of the different dragon forms we met is interesting as well.

Drakhyl’s was simply weird, but Cole’s greatly looks like traditional evil Black Dragons, just like the one called “DeathWing” in warcraft universe. And Kyri’s, here, looks much like a gentle Fairy Dragon, like the one called “Alextraza” again in warcraft universe. Coincidence ? Somehow i doubt it. 😉

Ah, and there is a mistake in the drawing : in human form, Kyri is wounded in the upper limit of the chest, near the shoulder, right ? Then how come that the wound move to the upper limit of a wing in dragon form ?

The wings are supposed to start in the middle of the back, aren’t they ? So the wound should be near the shoulder in dragon form too, a spot hidden in this pannel by the Dragonstone’s magic energy flow. 😉

Insectoid and Shadowydreamer – Thanks for stoppin’ by. 🙂

Darth Killer – Yes the dragons are based on the classic designs, mostly from the old Dungeons and Dragons game. Cole is based on a red dragon (although she is black/gray in color) and Kyri is modeled after a platinum dragon (she is a golden color – like her hair). Again, not exact copies but loose interpretations. Darkyl’s design was based on an oriental style dragon.

As for Kyri’s wound. She was shot in the upper chest/shoulder with the wound exiting at her shoulder blades, so I figured that would be just about where the wing would be based. So I figured it would affect the wing when transformed. Honestly, it simply looks more dramatic and clear to have a wounded wing. 🙂

I figured you intended to use the wound to make the landing more difficult. But actually by moving the wound to the wing you make it easier.

When the wound is a tiny whole in the wing, it hurts but does not parylise. Imagine a nail through your finger, will it parylise your hand ? 😉

However, if the wound is still in the upper chest and shoulder, Kyri will have breathing problems, in addition to the much greater pain. Also, while in human form she could use her nun teachings to bypass these problem, she cannot do that in dragon form since she’s not used to being a dragon. That’s where breathing difficulty will affect her movements and make her landing all the more difficult. 😉

I call science bs. I hate to be that guy, but someone need to stand up for physics and call you out. There is no way this panel is working for several reasons.
The dragon should still be right next to him as they where both in free fall. This is the Charlie’s Angel Theorem(CAT) I guess.
Two The dragon would just break it’s wing and continue plummeting to its death. And it would be a mighty death. The bigger you are the bigger the splat you make.
Three! I AINT GOT A THREE BUT THREES A PRETTY NUMBER <3

Also I thought that the endstones power was a radius power canceling thing… so did she CAT her self away or is the radius thing just something you need to learn how to do?

I’ll have to object to both those. :p

First, you don’t know how Kyri’s moving during the activation of the Dragonstone, neither how long it takes. Most likely, the dragonstone needs the stoner to stay still to gather magic energy to the stoner’s body, effectively stopping Kyri’s fall while she’s shapeshifting. If you add to this the fact that in previous panel, to get far from Drakhyl, Kyri had to hit Drakyl to speed him up, then the distance shown between the 2 on this panel is perfectly ok

Secondly, the wound DOES get larger, but proportionally to the increase of size of the entire body. Wich means if the original wound was a mear hole for a human body, the larger wound will still be a mear hole for the dragon body. And that’s what we see in this panel : the wound on the wing is bigger than Drakhyl’s head. 😉

As for the range effect of the Endstone, we saw when Kyri’s brothers were wiped out that it is not so great. By speeding up Drakhyl in the previous panel, Kyri got far enough from him to use the Dragonstone. 😉

I will never understand how we can call B.S. on falling out of the sky while accepting the blatant violation of the second law of Thermodynamics involved in transforming a woman into a Dragon.

And Air Resistance can also account for a change in falling speed, though Darkyl on his back flailing is in about the most resistant position he could be.

Well… I was trying to imply that Kyri pushed away from Drakyl and out of range of the Endstone in the last panel of the previous page. The Endstone has a passive power to disrupt stonecraft within a few feet, and it can be extended out to about a ten foot radius when it is rocked.

And as for the physics of dragons being able to fly with injured wings, I’m definitely guilty of “b.s.”

    I totally made that up.

Heck, Dragons fly primarily by magic anyway.
They would need a truly ridiculous wingspan (not to mention fragile hollow bones) to lift a body that size.

Absolutely. I’m reading these comments over again after 2 1/2 years, and really, the power of the stones bends reality so TheDeadMansLife really needs to get a life. There. LOL.

I dont think calling a science bs is very fair to a fantasy comic.

Seriously, people just need to learn to sit back and Enjoy things. Instead of nitpicking. Science is a big boy now, im sure physics can take it lol
