Only hit the shoulder. But i bet Kyri’s pride got badly hurt with that one, wich explains why she gave up her Twilight uniform, i guess ? 🙂

I think she gave up her uniform, because they didn’t teach her how to DOOOOOOOOOOODDGGEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

(If you don’t know why it is funny to shout ‘DOOOOOOOOOOOODDGGEEE!’ then you should watch TFS’s DBZ Abridged ASAP.)

Not very fond of “abridged” type of parodies, no matter the parodied subject, sorry. :-°

It’s a prologue, so we already know who’s gonna lose here.
Gun can still explode (I’m kinda hoping that will happen)

We know who will lose, yeah, but not how, nor do we know by whom. Personally i’m not sure about Kyri will actually defeat Drakhyl. I think Jon will do so, and aquire the Banestone at the same time, setting in motion events that will lead to the beginning of the story. 🙂

Yes, this is definitely the start of events at the will lead up to the scene at beginning of Issue 1. I love watching wilderness survival shows on cable tv. The thing that struck me about these shows was that I know the narrator survives to tell the tale, but it’s fascinating to see “how” they survived the ordeal. Hopefully you folks will enjoy this story of “how.” 🙂

Drakyl is teaching a valuable lesson here!
Never underestimate the enemy-knock him down first,be confident later!
She should take lessons from Herrik-as a normal guy,he have knocked stoners down, without relying on anything but reflexes and dirty street fighting.
Uhmmmm…he had done so then, hadn’t he?Did she know him back then?
Perhaps this comes later…Anyway, her style at a later point-as in fighting Cole-indicates that she might just took lessons from Herrik,as she appeared more focused, dangerous and agressive.

Good point, Costas. I think Kyri learns not to rely too much on the Endstone here. She probably has no concept of gun powder or projectile weapons other than spears and arrows (which she can easily dodge). She thinks Drakyl is casting some sort of spell which the Endstone will render harmless.

And you’re right, this is why she fights very aggressively when she battles Cole in issue 3. She can show no hesitation or else the insane rocker of the Banestone will kill her. Disable the Banestone first, have a heart-warming reunion second. I think Kyri may have come off a little cold-hearted in that battle but I was trying to stay true to the character and the desperate situation.

Tony, even without the concept of gunpowder,Kyri should aknoledge that when an opponent as dangerous as Drakyl turns something at you,you should act.
In martial arts (and once I was actively involved,so I speak based on experience),there are a lot of examples of what happens when one underestimates his opponent,or is over confident.
    Take a look at this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEDaCIDvj6I

It’s quite understandable. This is young Kyri. She’s had a lot of training but not much experience. One thing the experienced hero learns is that you never let a villain finish his monologue!
