“Focus on the location, not the people who are out to stop me.”

Yes. Clearly there is nothing that can go wrong with that plan.

Good observation. 😉 Interesting because my intent with “focus on environment” line was to show 1. Simon doesn’t care about people and 2. This is why people are changing into forms that are similar but not quite the same as their real world selves. Anyhow, yes, this also comes into play with the folks who are out to stop him. 🙂

Exactly – he doesn’t care about people. Naturally, he probably hasn’t even considered the possibility that anyone in the immediate area of the SPIRE wasn’t swept up in the initial burst of his world building algorithm.

Although it seems that part of this problem lies in his elation in being free from his eternal prison inside the Banestone – while trapped, he had very limited influence and so became a master of manipulating people. Recently freed within the past few days, he’s too excited to stop and think things through. Kind of like last time.

Law #1 of anything, ever – Murphey’s Law is always right around the corner with a fan and bucket of cow manure.

Glad you enjoyed the gag. 🙂 Now that I look at it, I should have had Dog-Primrose growling at the people in panel 3, but what’s done is done and I don’t have he energy to add it in.

Yep, I hadn’t considered it before, but once I saw this comic all of her attitude problems made perfect sense!

Now all that’s left is to show a random guy shouting “Nooo, my cabbages !” before getting transformed of erased… 😀

That it is, good sir. Cabbage Guy is a running gag in the show. Whenever he shows up, it’s a safe bet that either Team Avatar or whoever they are currently fighting/chasing/being chased by will shortly destroy his stock of cabbages for sale, resulting in said cry of torment. He even has a descendent who makes a cameo appearance in The Legend of Korra, crying out “Not my Cabbage Corp!” as his company gets seized by the government.

Thanks for the info! 🙂 I love Avatar by the way. One of my all time favorites. Every year or so I pull out the dvds and as I draw watch the entire series. The character balance and interaction is so freakin’ awesome.

There is a good reason for focusing on the environment first! Physics is a top priority for his type of world, and it must be assured to be able to run entirely independent of the tower’s influence! It would not do for memory overruns to occur or for magical ‘glitches’ to exist!

I am assuming that simon’s new role as “god” will be “the universal force that prevents further reality manipulation”

If he limits his actions to that, it might actually be better for his algorithm to play out. That way their universe will be safeguarded against other scientists who make the same choices as he did screwing everything up. For all the adventure and magic their world had, it was a pretty sucky place with a very low standard and quality of life. Having a superbeing safeguard the timeline and make it so all future mad scientists, when they throw the switch, are met with a fizzle instead of reality alteration.

Okay, I’m not usually one in favor of reboots…

    … but I call Prim’s reboot an improvement all-round.
