My guess is, shutdown means the end of all overstones, except for the helmet and probably the 2 main overstones. So, yeah, they may need to stop the shutdown too…
That would depend on wether the overstones are a final product or a continuous effect. Basically the difference between being imbued with their own power or merely channeling a specific micro aspect of the SPIRE’s.
Although personal experience has taught me that when in doubt, assume the worse option. That way you can be pleasantly surprised when the entire system DOESN’T go up in smoke, or at least prepared to fix everything.
Hopefully 4 frogmen survive.
