I hope everyone is enjoying the Holidays! Not a good day for Jon unfortunately. . .
Definitely not potato chip bullets.
Unfortunately no. 🙁
Looks a bit like Jon already got it… 🙁
Have to agree, I think he’s pretty much toast. Looked like a through and through heart shot.
Things definitely don’t look good for Jon. We’ll see how this plays out. 🙂
Did not expect Simon to to be aware of his surroundering. He’s getting better at fighitng by the minute, combined with everything else about him, that’s going to be really troublesome…
I do love how Primrose remains unphased by Jon’s fate. 😀
Possible trick for Jon : rock the Quickstone to speed up his metabolism, and his healing process, so he can surprise strike Simon with a flamming force field.
That’s very creative, DK. 🙂 And good catch on Primrose. She obviously dislikes the group and we shall see where this leads.
@DK Except for the small fact that doing so would also increase the rate of his bleeding out, yes. It was a good idea though. And yes, it would appear that GATES did indeed learn something of tactics while watching others use them for the last 5k years. Not good.
Another thought that only recently occurred to me, is that the Banestone and Quickstone can be considered opposites to a degree: The Banestone stops time for everyone but the user, while the Quickstone speeds the user up immensely – they have opposite effects on the flow of time. Or, alternatively, they could have the same power to different magnitudes – the Banestone could well simply increase the user’s speed sufficiently that time may as well be stopped from their perspective. If this were the case, it would be impossible for any being to tell the difference, as they would be moving too quickly. Also, it could even be possible for the quickstone rocker (at full power) to be able to move in slow-motion while time was “stopped.” Probably thinking that through far beyond Tony’s notes on the subject, but I tend to do that a lot with TV and literature, especially when the material is so good.
Take DC hero The Flash for instance. His super speed also makes his metabolism and healing process super fast, yet when bleeding he does not bleed more than anyone else.
Can be explained if we take a look at the Justice League season 1 finale : looks like he can selectivly speed up some of his body functions.
It is true that high speeds affect time around, so i guess you have a neat idea with Banestone and Quickstone being related. 🙂
Fair enough, I was thinking of it from more of a “how it would most likely work in real life” perspective, which obviously does not always apply to a Fantasy or Sci-Fi genre. Either way, we shall see how it plays out.
Cole looks down right homicidal on that last panel. I’m thinking gates should do every thing in his power to make sure her dad doesn’t die right now.
Hell hath no fury. . .
I think a lot of people are forgetting about the healstone
Ooooo…. great point. 🙂
No one seems to notice that Dr. Simon’s hand is directly across Jon’s head from the muzzle of the gun. If he shoots now, he’ll blow off his own hand in the process.
