Well, we all knew that this would happen, at least to some extent. It would be very anticlimactic if they finished off GATES before he gets the eternity spire rebooted from when Thunderhead and John crashed its OS.
That, and I doubt that the Charmstone will work a second time, now that GATES is expecting it. One tends to have far more willpower when they are expecting to need it.

I find it more interesting that in the second panel, you can see GATES still smiling, even with arrows coming in. That means he hasn’t broken free from the Charmstone’s effects.
Also, I have a strong feeling that Primrose will get hurt. She IS just standing there in a gown and making her location very obvious to everybody.
You have to admit, Primrose is rocking that dress. Since that’s the only thing she can rock that may be the whole reason she set this scene up. Never underestimate the power of stupid.
Satherian – Very true on both counts. Gates is still “under the influence” at least for the moment. And Primrose is out in the open. I don’t want to spoil anything but let me say this will make her the object of an incident very soon. 🙂
Oz – LOL. Primrose’s only power it seems is that of a dress rocker. 🙂
