Hmm…. I couldn’t get it to duplicate your problem, Shadowydreamer. The only ads I have are the Project Wonderful ones you see at the top and right sides. It’s either on your end or someone has hijacked the site.
@Shadowy: I got no such behavior. So I would guess it is some Browser addon on your side or already fixed.
But regarding the Comic:
Wait a second! This arc is not stone. It is Reinforced Concrete! Steel reinforced Concrete. A building material of the pre-S.P.I.R.E. era, only developed durign the industrial revolution of our timeline. Near as I can tell it is the first example of real world technology that was not already inveted by the early middle ages (where this seems to play technologically).
Exactly right. 🙂 The Gateway Arch is very ancient to the inhabitants of this world and has religious significance. I had a scene with clerics at the base of the arch when Herrik, Gog, and Bolo entered the structure, but I cut it.
All questions about this world will hopefully be answered at the end of this issue. Stay tuned. 🙂
Hey SCAScot, glad to see you’re still reading. 🙂
And holy crow, I didn’t know about Defiance and the Gateway Arch. (I had to google it. I don’t watch much TV anymore). Shoot, I thought I had the Gateway Arch market cornered. Oh well…..
Our world’s Gateway Arch is stainless steel over concrete for the lower half and all steel after that to the top. At sunset its amazing to watch the sunlight reflect off it.
To be honest, I’ve never been to the Gateway Arch before. I guess there shouldn’t be any reinforced concrete at the top. Oh well… what’s done is done. I hope it still works for you folks.
Well, who’s to say that the arch hasn’t been repaired or partially rebuilt once or twice in the last 5000 years, probably using materials and technology far inferior to the originals?
((Frowns)) When you click “Next” on the most up to date comic, it sends you to an advert. Is this by design or just a hiccup?

Sorry! Must be a browser issue. Sorry for thinking it was your site!

I want to note, you were doing a thrashed St. Louis/Gateway Arch long before SyFy and “Defiance”. And doing it better, too.

I am so glad that Gog is wearing boxers. I’m sure the Bolo and Herrik are, too!
Considering the alternative, yes it is a very good thing Gog is wearing those shorts. 😉

Cool. I did not know that. 🙂

I like it. 🙂
Probably repaired by the lowest bidder too
