Oh-ho Eyes. Most likely minions. Did he acquire his lackeys the toad men through business venture or maybe the toad-stone sometime on his adventure? (someone did mention ‘toadstone’ once right?) I remember him having toadmen in the beginning of the comic and I figured it’d wrap around sometime.
Actually he stole the Toadstone from a lowlife stoner, along with Herrik. That stoner would later aquire the Firestone to try and create a gang, and Herrik got ambushed with him and got his butt saved by the newly freed Jon. See when Jon got his Firestone before the mighty fight with Cole Dragonstone. 😉
Yes but this is back in the past again thus why im wondering if it has occurred yet or not since he uses the toadmen army to hold the team at bay in the beginning. That side quest likely occurred well before his descent into madness.
Jon’s had the Toad-stone for a long time. Darth Killer is fairly accurate in his account of events. It happened very early before Jon rocked the Banestone and even before the defeat of Drakyl the Dragonstone.
He does not have it currently. Someone else does…
Thanks for stopping by Lothmar and Darth Killer. 🙂
Probably just a cool magical aura effect then, or maybe a stone we haven’t seen in action before (or at least none that I remember). Regardless, I look forward to each and every page of this comic.
When you say “currently”, you’re talking about present moment, right ? Not the flashback we read right now ?
the way i’ve read it so far, he used the Toadstone with maximum power to delay the task force at Eternity Spire, and lost it along with all his collection when he got trapped in time.
Several of his stones were taken by Quandrel, not only the Banestone. Cole stole them once she got possessed by the Banestone, from what was said in another flashback. Most likely that’s where she got the Dragonstone too.
This page is fantastic. Kyri’s defiant stance, the wind blowing for dramatic effect and Jon looks just as magnificent with his pose, formal clothing, intense stare and the eyes peering from the background. Also the background contrast between them. Great job Tony!
There’s still one thing bothering me. The way we’re going forward, how can Jon trick Cole into stealing the Endstone from her mother ? Because that’s what is supposed to happen to led to the final raid on Eternity Spire where Jon and Kyri enevtually got trapped in time…
With a frontal assault like that one, Kyri will for sure be on her guard, and won’t give the Endstone to anyone, even her daughter. Additionally, Cole will grow mistrust after seeing a lethal fight triggered by her father, she shows in last 2 panels that she’s more clever than we first thought (even if still childish).
As for the panel, i think you should put back Kyri’s tears. After all, they can’t dry up that fast, and their presence combined with Kyri’s determined stare will add some drama, i think. 😉
Good question. 🙂 How Cole managed to steal the Endstone and why will be revealed next issue and will be the last flashback. And I like the idea of adding tears here. If and when I get some time I’ll definitely add them. 🙂

Correct. 🙂

Thanks. 🙂 I really felt like I was finally grasping color a bit on this page.

DK…Only 3 things are certain in our lives.
Death,Taxes and Tony’s skills in plot twisting 🙂
Have patience….
Don’t worry about my patience. I’m mearly underlining details i feel worthy the debate. I like well-built fanbased predicting. 😉
