So Kyri’s home is in Missouri… (this IS Kyri’s old home, right?)
Where are all the other places like the spire and the palace?

I don’t think this is Kyri’s old home. She’s a simple deer from the woodlands of Pennsylvania, don’t forget.

Let’s just say Kyri, like most folks, may have lived in various places through-out her life. 🙂

The palace is in St. Louis, Missouri so she’s probably near the city. I chose St. Louis as the major city in this fantasy world because the Mississippi River valley was actually the center of North American Civilization before the arrival of Europeans so it follows that the major cities would be built here (with water and transportation easily available.)

The Eternity Spire’s location is somewhat mysterious. Let’s just say it’s out West.

Eternity Spire is in western US ? Let me guess, Nerdy God is high tech, a western state well-known for its high tech sould be… California ?

Actually, California is the land of the undead. 😉 That will be the topic of Endstone volume 2 hopefully if all goes according to plan. 🙂

getting confusing for me… I’m from holland, not from USA.
Any chance of them stopping by in the Netherlands? 😛
Oh and California land of the undead? If you get Arnold Schwarzenegger (did I spell it right?) as governor, you deserve it…

I’m from California so there is definitely a social comment in there about it being the land of the undead. 😉

By the way Tony, why limited to US regions ? Like what godstoner hinted, there might be more to know of the big world after all…

Good question. I know a great many readers are from outside the US and it would probably be interesting and nice to include other regions, but I chose the US for two main reasons. 1. As an American myself I am very familiar obviously with my country so it’s easier to place the setting here. 2. Once the US is established as the setting, going to other regions is highly unlikely considering the isolation of the New World from the Old World before the advent of modern technology.

Maybe someday the characters could venture to another continent, but right now there’s just too many places to explore in North America once this origin story (volume 1) is completed. But then again, I never know where the story or characters may lead me so I will never say never. 🙂

There’s just one big flaw with reason 2 : the old technologies and arts shown in Endstone are typical those of the Old World in its medieval history. America was unknown to them at the time and had its own empires and techs. How to explain Enstone US, supposed to be isolated from Enstone Europe because of the aviable techs, uses European medieval techs ? :-°

Yet since i’m completly crazy i think i can explain it right away. xD
If Nerdy God created this world, and was a mear nerd fat man with conquest dreams, he may have created it according to how he imagined it. Not necessary having accurate knowledge about history. 😀
And the creation of this world by Nerdy God is part of my older theory to explain it is an illusion : if broken in special way, only Nerdy God may retain his power, thus ruling over the world.

Yes I think it would be cool to have an Endstone forum. I just didn’t think I had enough readers/commentators yet. I’d just have to figure out how to set it up, if it’s something you folks would be interested in.

Awesome idea. I’ve had a bit of experience with hosting a forum myself (for a guild on an online game – don’t ask) and you basically have 2 options:
-host a forum by yourself: This is a lot of work and will probably cost you some mony, but you can make it just about any way you like.
-host a forum on a forumhostingsite: free and easy, but limited freedom and loads of irritating advertisements. Also bit less professional…
With the first option I can’t be of much help, since I am only capable of very basic programming. About the second option: I only have experience with dutch hostsites, but examples you could use are forumotion.com, forumer.com, forums-free.com and makeforum.org.
        Hope you can use this!

Same experience as GodStoner. Yet, i’m not sure you’ll lack any options if you choose a forum hosting site. My experience with those is with french ones unfortunately : ForumActif.com and XooIt.com (as well as a third one but the third one sucks greatly). I guess you can find others through a Google search.

As for creating the forum sections, all you have to do is to read what admin menus say and do some tests. Experiment a lot, and you should master 90% of your forum in a matter of hours. 😉

Finally, for providing images to design your forum, check in admin panel what already in-use design uses as images. Unlike me, you’re good with images, you should be fine with that. Me, i find it hard enough to draw a faceless stickman…

Thanks for the advice, guys (gals?). 🙂 Sounds somewhat complicated and time consuming. I’ll have to look into it, but I think right now my time might be better spent drawing more Endstone pages. I have about 20 expansion pages I want to add to Issues 1 and 2 so I’m going to be tied up with that for the next few months.

But I’ll look into it. 🙂
