Somehow, i feel Drakhyl’s fate harsher than Jon’s. Jon was freed from the nerdy god and his Banestone, while Drakhyl died still his slave. Since the Banestone’s magic is reacting despite Drakhyl being dead, something tells me that it’s leaking out his soul. The nerdy god might be empowered just like any lich, except he absorbs souls of deceased stoners wearing the Banestone.
Now that’s just a theory produced by a sleepy brain of mine, since it’s bed time here… xD
godstoner – LOL. Not only is it creepier, it sounds a whole lot crazier when someone says “I will do the bidding of my master, the evil Orange Juice Hat.”
Shadowydreamer – Thanks for the art kudos. I appreciate it. I was trying to say “things are NOT going to be all right” with the last panel. I’m glad it came across.
Darth Killer – Yes, Drakyl’s fate is definitely harsher than Jon’s. But Drakyl murdered Pablo Montaine in order to possess the Banestone, so maybe he got what he deserved. But then again, Jon hasn’t met his fate yet. His sins are also great as we shall see. The wheel is still in motion.
Something else is bothering me. Whatever event brought Jon to use the Banestone, i seriously doubt that’s the true reason why he used it. I don’t think Jon himself is aware of it, but maybe Nerdy God can sneackily influence peaple around the Banestone to eventually make them use the Banestone.
My bet that’s what truely happenned to Jon, that’s what happenned to Cole too (why a respected man who took care of Cole for 15 years whould suddenly go into a rapist mind state on her knowing the Banestone was nearby ? It just doesn’t make sense), and maybe that’s even what pushed Drakhyl to kill Pablo in the first place. There are other selfish and power-hungry stoners in the world, yet none of them ever tried to steal the Banestone before, even those who would befriend its gardian for it. What could make Drakhyl any different ?
Nerdy God here must be able to manipulate emotions of stoners surrounding the Banestone to set up schemes where a stoner eventually grabs and rocks the Banestone, becoming a slave in the process.
I’m not spoiling anything since this is all in the story: The God of the Eternity Spire (GOTES) is, as you pointed out, able to prey on the weak willed and exploit their personality flaws. He played on Cole’s curiosity. He probably heightened her mentor’s already sleazy side. Drakyl probably already had issues with violence and temper. Jon? — he’s a nice guy who loves his family and friends, but he has a somewhat roguish side. He and Herrik stole the Endstone after-all. And don’t forget Jon’s other-world occupation.

Orange juice hat is back… Somehow that sounds creepier as ‘god of the spire’
Anyway, I love the drawing on this page!
“Orange juice hat”… LOL.
Yes – I must say, I don’t always follow stuff (and that’s my lack of deep sleep, not your comic!) but the art is ALWAYS incredible!
I particularly liked the last panel.. even better than your usual awesome since it layers so many things into just one pic!

The “God of the Eternity Spire”…would his first name be “Bill”?
Bill Orange Juice Head? That’s one crazy name to give to your son!
LOL. Bill GOTES. I hereby dub the character the “God AT the Eternity Spire… or GATES…. Bill GATES. 🙂
Just call him OJ.
