Hmmm… This flashback seems a little bit too long. I mean she IS running for her life. I guess this is the point where she would be tripping, but that would be an awfully short story. I hope to see Vandrick(?) the Grim in “real life” (I mean not just in flashbacks). He seems like a fun guy.
Kyri’s going to snap something before this scene is over that’s for sure. 😉
This flashback was only one page when I first wrote it. But I was showing the roughs to a friend of mine and his main criticism was that he didn’t know who the characters were yet. I was going too fast! So I’m stretching scenes a little… but maybe it’s not working. With this scene I added just an extra page (last Thursday’s post and today’s post) to show why Kyri’s father was a big part of her life. It’s supposed to be a set-up to add emotional impact for what comes next.
But then again, that’s the problem with the webcomic format: what would take 30 seconds to read in print could take weeks to present in a twice weekly web format. I’m still working on finding a balance. 🙂
And thanks Fywillan. I really value your honest feedback. 🙂
Don’t feel too bad. Entire weekly episodes of tv shows, or chapters of some webcomics are mostly flashback, with just a small amount of decisive action happening afterwards.
Yes! He should be the Rainstone, not his younger sister. There is a whole ‘nother story there to be told, but I had to cut it because this scene was already running a bit long. Maybe later.
Congrats on your comic, Tony. You’ve got a great universe there and an interesting story to be told. I’m glad to see it gradually catching up on the TWC.
Your idea of putting a new preview every day is a great motivator.
Be sure that Endstone will have a place in my shelf, next to LFG and the Noob as soon as I finish to put my new home in order and restart collecting.
Thanks alot, hrimhari. 🙂 I appreciate the encouraging words. Also, lately I was wondering if the TWC incentives are too much of a spoiler, and maybe I should stop. But I’ll keep it up. And I hope you are enjoying your new home. 🙂
AT…still loving the art and story line. I also enjoy the flashbacks as I know something is coming…something is going to happen. I just want it all NOW. So, I’m suggesting that you do a daily posting for the remainder of the summer (with all your free time, you know). BA
Howdy Brent. How’s life at the grind treating you? As for updates, I’m doing two and half sometimes three full pages a week, but I’m building a bank in case I break more bones this coming year. The odds are not with me….

So: SNAP OUT OF IT KYRI! MIND WHERE YOU STEP!
woah, long post!

Thanks for the feedback, Matanui3. 🙂
Her brother looks a little jealous 🙂

Hey, what’s with the REAL deer skull in the foreground of the last panel? Love the comic, keep confounding my expectations.
The deer skull is the symbol of the goddess Vale. Same as the tattoo on Kyri’s back. And thanks for stopping by sdstarr. 🙂
The daily grind is the same as usual. Keep up the awesome work…maybe someday this can be your “real” job!!
