I asume that means only the primary wielder will get full on Sentience? Or the more you animate, the less intelligent they are?
My bad for not making this clearer but the Gravestone can only work on one corpse at a time. And the deceased would have to have been a stoner in life for the Gravestone to give continuous life.
Only Kyri (as taught by her master) can split an over stone. And if a stone is split, it is powerless. Plus, Kyri can only split a stone that she has intensely examined, like the Endstone. So it’s extremely rare to split a stone. Most stoners think such a thing is a myth
I can see several ways this can play out. Either Jon refuses and Pablo retorts with a witty (or cold) remark, or Jon agrees and old Gramma arises from the dead in skeleton form and mistakes Jon for her husband and gives him a talking down. Or she arises and gives the now-dead Pablo an earful, which he of course blissfully can’t hear.
But I suspect something more is in the cards, given the premonition a few pages ago of a door breaking open and the dead arising. What if they get a nasty surprise upon opening the coffin? That would be grotesque, but… Hmmm…
These are all good scenarios and we’ll see how this plays out. ☺
And yes there is more in the cards. Everyone seems to have missed it (my bad in the art) but there is a zombie in the woods in the first panel of page 13.38 – two pages earlier. So yes something is up. ☺
Actually, I did notice it, but wasn’t sure if it was a zombie or a drunk who got kicked out of the Stoner’s Inn. Nobody else mentioned it so I promptly forgot about it. 😛
