Hmm. Were people erased when this world came into being?

That’s not it. This world and the past world are the same. Simon’s new world however revolves around preventing past events from occuring, thus changing present. It’s a lot like time travel, except Simon is working directly on the timeline itself instead of mearly going into the past and change things my acting there.

To be fair, I see this same kind of confusion a LOT when reading reviews/comments on things involving Time Travel (which Endstone is NOT, get that out of your head).

If it helps, here’s an analogy: You delete your old save on some video game and start a new file. Essentially, you destroy that version of events and create a new one entirely. This is what Simon/GATES is doing here; destroying this version of events and rebuilding everything as some sort of misplaced “atonement” for causing the apocalypse in the first place.

Although to be fair, he was trapped in relative solitude for 5,000 years (by his own count – plenty of room for error there), only able to observe, never directly interfere. That’d drive most anyone insane. ESPECIALLY someone who skipped what was probably days worth of safety checks and benchmarking to proceed directly to Phase II of testing a dangerous reality-altering device. Not a tremendously rational decision there.

      End of Line

Hi Mary. 🙂 Good to hear from you.

What both “Darths” said is correct.

And simply put: Kyri and Cole’s world is our world thousands of years in the future. Simon, guilty of causing the apocalypse, wants to recreate the modern world by overriding reality.

I’m just hoping this new world will have more nudity in it than the previous one 😀
