Don’t mind me. I’m certainly not going to interrupt the flow of power between these white and black buttons, nosir, not me. Just keep looking over there for a leeeeeeeeeetle bit longer. It’s more exiting over there. Go on. I’m not doing anything.
Somehow, Simon’s speach in this sounds a lot different from what his future speaches will be. He radiates more with hope for a better future, and both the willingness to do good and the willpower not to give up. Almost a fighting spirit. Nothing like the uncompasionnate plotting mastermind pulling strings he’s bound to become. Probably devoured by power lust and power hunger ?
Giving bad guys a good guy origin always makes them more interesting, if you ask me. That way they make us think of our own path, and its many branches. What would have happenned in an alternate timeline where Simon would never have let himself be consumed by power ? Both good and bad, as there are so many other branches afterwards…
In light of this I see him as less driven because of power, and more driven because his Mind has been imprisioned in this world for 5,000 years, and getting the Bane and End stones together is his only source of release.
Come What May… perhaps it’s time for those who’ve been following since the beginning to review the start of Issue 6. Perhaps not.
And not few pages back he was calling out “Destroy!!” while carrying out the Phase 1.
Thought the sandwich didn’t look too professional originally, I guess at least this explains what it was doing there, still made it look more like some bachelor’s room!
Meme – Glad to know you’ve been reading the comic for a long time. 🙂 Yes Issue 6 is a good place to look for clues. I’ve been coy with Simon’s origin but this issue will answer all questions. 🙂
Power corrupts. Absolute power, the power to remake the world…does it corrupt absolutely? Or, at some point, do you recognize that you’re no longer in control, and that the power has taken on a life of its own?
So, he was always a prick?
Simon is arrogant and over-confident…. so yes. 🙂
As soon as I read “Let’s rock” I immediately think of “rocking the banestone” … mayhaps this is where the term of “rocking” came from?
Could be… I’ll leave it up to you. 🙂
Unimpressed magic computer screen guy is with you
Or is he ? Somehow that dude gives me the feeling he’s a mole. I may be wrong, but…

Welcome Daniel. The “too cool” dude will have a part to play before this scene is over. 🙂

*IF* 5000 years truely have passed. That may not be the case, specially if whatever tragedy rewrites the timeline itself. 😉
That’s a good analysis, DK and Lord Bounty. Doctor Simon will prove to have strong motivations that drive his actions. Stay tuned….
To me, that ‘let’s rock’ point to the fact that Alvick=Elvis is termed as the most powerful god in that universe.
Cool idea. I’ll let you folks draw your own conclusions. Thanks for stoppin’ by. 🙂
He’s gonna “change the world”, alright…

Interesting thoughts. We shall see…
Glad you’re still reading after all these years, SCAScot. 🙂
Never stopped, my friend. Just lurking. 😉
