Special thanks to Bruce F for the very generous donation. Bruce, you should have received an email from me. If not, please contact me. 🙂
And thanks to everyone who donated. The donation drive was a big success. Endstone was costing more money than it was bringing in so this really helps me keep the comic going. 🙂
He made a sandwich out of nothing?
Really hamming it up in that last panel, eh? ^^
OM NOM NOM NOM
He’s going HAM xD
When you are working with powers that kick the Space-Time Continuum into the private parts, just to create a Ham-Sandwich – it’s propably the point where you can be called a “mad scientist”.
Also I have been wondering:
The Redheaded girl looks a lot like Primrose for me.
The guy at the keyboard/killswitch reminds me of Bolo.
And the bald black guy who only had one sentence so far reminds me of Vanderic the Grim.
While it is impossible they survived 5000 Years, some form of genetical rebirth/looking like you acestor 200 generations ago seems not far fetched.
That’s called normal science, actually, Christopher. You test a phenomenon through something quite humble, before thinking of how you can apply it for better uses. By creating this sandwich out of thin air, he proved this theories, and can now go further. 😉
As for the ressemblance, remember Jon being an investment banker ?

I think it’s more like the timeline itself is messed up and got rewritten, along with the memories of whoever was alive at the point. Which means Kyri’s siblings may have been a dream or an illusion, caused by the timeline mess. OR the timeline mess could have caused everyone to get forcefully reincarnated, and by forcefully i mean without dying first.
All questions about the true nature of the Endstone universe and its characters will definitely be answered by the end of this issue. Stay tuned. 🙂
Does not mean i’ll stop trying to anticipate it with theories. :p
Please do. 🙂 I love seeing reader reactions and theories. It’s one of the things that keeps me doing this comic. 🙂
But did he make enough for everybody?
If not, fire it back up!…No mayo on mine!!
Wow. 5000 years ago, eh? I can see how things went awry since then… with the ability to create anything, there would be an explosion of wild ideas and fantastical imaginations that can now suddenly be realized in actuality. Which, naturally, leads to total chaos, until someone with sense restricts that ability to trusted people, who are given tokens that allow them access to the machine. Everyone else would just settle down in their altered forms and live more or less normal lives. Over time, their origins would have been forgotten or transmuted into myths, save for the tokens inherited by the rockers…
Totally makes sense to me. 🙂 (But wouldn’t be surprised if my theory is far off, though.)
Cool. You’ll have your answer shortly. 🙂
A fascinating idea.
The Stones are bascially limited neural access to the Spire, wich also require inherent ability/genetic markers to work.
That would mean the “Account Manager” or “Security Adminsitrator” would be a very dangerous being. Just think what you do if he changes your security questions or password to the stone^^
Or if he let’s your free Trial of Nun-fu expire 😉
I too asumed some mayor world-changing event that was more or less forgotten.
Also noticed that we haven’t seen any technology so far, so it is possible normal laws of physics are too wonky for computers, car engines, etc. to work. That or the event also wiped out all instances of this technology, as well as all memory and records of to built them.
Very interesting theory. 🙂
I’m pretty sure you’ve answered this before, Tony.. but when you finish, will you be releasing as a graphic novel? (Or two .. I have no idea how big graphic novels can or can not be) .. Maybe print on demand? It’s more expensive for *us* but means you don’t have to invest hand over fist to make your drooling fen happy.
As far as guesses go.. I was pretty sure that Cole was the ham sandwich.
Yes I plan on releasing Endstone as a graphic novel. Probably two – a black and white one featuring Issues 1-4, and a color one featuring Issues 5-10. If I have the time and ambition I might color issues 1-4 too.
This current Endstone story will wrap up at Issue 10. Hopefully I’ll have the energy to tell more stories and explore this world and its characters. I’d like to. Obviously this whole run was a set-up for the world and characters. We’ll see if I have the energy and life commitment to keep on producing a webcomic. 🙂
As for Cole being the ham sandwich (lol), all I have to say is you ain’t seen nothing yet. 🙂
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello!
New reader here, first post. Very good story, more nuances with the color (sorry for the pun)! Very evocative fo 60-70 era comics. And since I read all the archives and it’s fresh to memories, is it the same sandwich showing on 1-07 and 1-08, on the top of the computer console?
Hi Absonux. 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to let me know you are enjoying the comic. 🙂
I’ve been doing this comic for 3.5 years and you are the first to notice the sandwich on top of the console in Issue one!!!!! 🙂 It’s actually a hot dog but over the years I decided that a ham sandwich works better.
Welcome. 🙂
You intrigued me enough to go check that detail. Well there is the soda too.
But seeing that issue one pic made me notice something else : the console materializing behind Simon back then is the one with the on / off switches. Better, those switches match the Banestone and Endstone, both in color and position.
Yeah, originally it was a soda and a hot dog, but the script evolved a bit over the years. And no one noticed them (not even you – my #1 reader 🙂 ) so I changed it to a ham sandwich and I was eventually going to delete the hot dog/soda or just leave it as a joke for those who really scrutinized the pages.
As for the buttons looking like the Endstone and Banestone — very interesting observation. 🙂
Ha! Any way, for both, you need mustard! and, as I read somewhere ( can’t remember where) ” small trivia enhance drama “. Very well chosen trivia to enhance *end of the world final countdown*. Also chekhow’s gun, maybe?
