It might take Kiri over, too, though, might it not? I’d guess Kiri will try to recover the Endstone, since it’s a known quantity to her. She seems kind of conservative to me. In a Deerish way, of course.
I’m thinking the plan is have Colindra held while she recovers the other half of the Endstone from our dog friend, then use it to neutralize the Banestone.
No it has not. But it has been established that Vandric was created from scratch by Drakhyl. Considering the universe we’re witnessing, i’d say Vandric’s birth is stonecraft, which might make him susceptible to the Banestone’s effects anyway.
That’s why, 15 years prior, the king of St Louis was the only one able to grab the Banestone.
It seems to me the two of them are not so much goons but servants. They exist to port her stuff around for her and look pretty. While Colindra had everything under control, they had no reason to step in, and if something’s more powerful than her with the Banestone, they have every reason not to step in. 😉
Director’s Track Comment: Vandric is not a stoner so he could probably handle the Banestone. However, as DK points out, he was created by stonecraft so there is a risk that he might be influenced by the stone. Also, if Vandric wants to grab the Banestone from Cole, he has to release her hands. There is risk there too that she might over-power him.
And obviously, Kyri can’t handle the Banestone at all. So they have Cole contained for now and they just have to keep her contained until the Endstone is recovered.
As for Zigfred and Ray, they are not loyal to Cole. As others have pointed-out, they are probably very afraid of a creature (Vandric) that can over-power the Banestone-rocker. And they probably know about Kyri Thunderhead as well so they have double the reason to be wary.
Aaaw. A touching mother/psychopathic daughter moment. ^-^
Wait, has she taken the Banestone yet? Because there’s no excuse for not grabbing it at the very first opportunity.

We know for a fact that you have to rock the Banestone for it to grab you; and I don’t think Vedric is a Stoner so he’s immune.

Has it been established if Vandric is a stoner? He could remove the Banestone himself if not.

Still, what are Cole’s goons waiting for, exactly ? They were not with the toadmen, last time i saw them.

They want Cole dead, and to take her powers. Might be easier to take them from Mommy than insane Cole.
