Howdy folks! Long time no see!
Endstone is back. I hope I haven’t lost too many of you over the hiatus, but I just had to take some time off. Updates will be sporadic for a bit. To keep my sanity, I’m going to update when I have the time and desire. Hopefully that will be often. However, this comic is a hobby for me and I can’t let it interfere with the more important things in my life. That said, I love doing it and I love entertaining you all, so there’s where I’m at.
Enjoy and I’ll see you soon.
Yay! Nice to see you back!
Hope it keeps being fun, and doesn’t become a chore (again).
Thanks! Glad you’re still around Andy. 🙂
Also, I didn’t want to put this in the main post, but there were two main reasons I stopped.
1. Discouragement. I’ve been dumping long hours of my life into this project for years and it’s getting nowhere. When I started this comic I was still a young man. I’m not anymore. I just finally snapped and had enough. I’m coming back with a changed attitude. I originally started this comic as an escape from video games. I was wasting too much time on games and I thought I should learn a real skill, like drawing. So I’ve gone back to that outlook: time working on Endstone is just time I would have wasted playing video games or watching baseball or something. A hobby to enjoy.
2. I’ve been neglecting other things in my life too, like getting my finances in order, spending time with family and friends, traveling, camping, exercising, etc. So these come first and then I’ll have time for Endstone.
Anyhow, bottom line is I love drawing and telling stories. So hopefully you’ll come along with me as I explore with this little comic. 🙂
I did my webcomic for ten years. Totally understood Bill Waterson when I said “The heck with it” and retired.
I very much appreciate you sticking with it and sharing your passion, vision, and art with us.. but yeah, don’t let it take over your life!
Hi Tony,
I think your attitude is understandable. I will say that I doubt you are THAT old now; older yes, but not OLD. My Grandmother worked until she was 94, taking care of old people. She only stopped because her eyes gave out. So, you are nowhere near old. ?
Just keep working on the strip as you can, but maybe drop us a note now-and-then to say you are alive and well.
As the advertisement says, we’ll keep a light on for yoy.
Glad to see you’re back! Please entertain us with your art and ideas when you want to and it’s FUN for you. Stop if either of the above changes direction. 🙂
I think I can understand you. I have been writing a blog since 2003 and last year I almost delete everything because something that started like a fun hobby became a burden. I am glad that you are back and I hope that you had found the balance between your life and Endstone.
Hey Tony, I’m happy to see Endstone back and to hear you’re getting your priorities aligned with what’s best for you. I wish you all the best and many Endstone pages to us 😉
I was missing Pablo, and of course you, Tony.
BTW, update the “cast” page.
Man, am I glad to see you back! This comic has been one of my favorites literally for years (I started following back in Issue 2, but mostly just lurk). It’s always been very well-written, well-drawn, and has had a compelling story. Thanks for all the time you’ve devoted to this!
Woohoo! Finally! Good to see you back. Glad the comic is continuing.
Looks like either Miss Livingstone is out of juice or is linking to the Gravestone
I’m thinking she stopped because she can’t enter shadow for some reason. We shall see!
My guess is either shadow, or she senses something. We shall see, indeed!
End of Line
Welcome back! I’m glad you took some time to recharge. Hobbies should be enjoyable, and if they start eating at you, you should yourself take a step back to reevaluate things.
*you should totally take a step back
Hey thanks for stopping by everyone! 🙂 I’m glad you are all still hanging around, it helps keep me going! 🙂
Wooooooooot!!1!ONE ;D
Couldn’t sleep, so decided to check on my “Webcomics: Hiatus” folder (although technically speaking, a few of those entries are just REALLY slow to update *cough*Nuzlocke*cough*).
Yeah, that peaky “life” stuff tends to eat up a lot of time, especially where those peskier “paper faces” are involved. We (or at least MOST of us, can’t speak for all) understand completely, especially where stress and discouragement are concerned. Those things are all-consuming in an emotional and spiritual sense.
End of Line
Hey, just wanted to drop in and say I’m still here as well! We love you and your work, Tony, and I’m glad you’re back. Take your time and be happy, and always keep a good cigar at the ready for when things get hard. ?
