Well, she is different. The Gravestone is heavily limited. Inlcuding that it can only revive Stoners and only one at a time (they have to power it themself).
I looked back a bit. When Pablo first appeared, Kyri jumped him. But later they did work together. I guess she at least is acustomed to this form of “dead stoner walking”.
Thunderhead is very clearly NOT comfortable with the Gravestone or its rocker, though she seems to have filed Pablo under the “more good than harm” category. It doesn’t mean she likes the Gravestone or its rocker, merely that she doesn’t have a problem with Pablo himself. Across these last few pages, it’s been pretty clear she’s restraining herself with regards to Lindy, less it offend the rest of her family.
Also, I disagree with you with respect to the Gravestone being limited. Barring true physical exertion, the brain is easily one of the biggest energy-draws of the human(oid) body. Since the Gravestone somehow brings higher brain function with it, it seems to me it simply lacks the energy to affect multiple individuals at one time. It’s not a question of target-selection, it’s one of energy requirements.
Unless of course, this new (implied) Overstone is a companion of sorts, and they are meant to be used together. Then my above analysis becomes situational.
Great points folks. 🙂 Kyri’s position on this will become clearer as the story progresses. And yes there is some cognitive dissonance that needs to be dealt with. As for the Gravestone…. stay tuned. 🙂
It’s amazing to watch people practice cognitive dissonance.
