Two small details that I love about this page: One, Kyri’s half of the room is messy and has plants in it, while Jon’s is tidy and aseptic. It makes a nice visual cue of their contrasting personalities.
Two, that Kyri and Jon are sleeping in the same bed. It is a really good way to show that their relationship has healed.
Now, I’m going to guess that glimmering thing on a piece of cloth in the last panel is one of Kyri’s OverStones. The question is which one…
Yeah the original script didn’t have her take off the Endstone. It just happened as I drew this page. I think Kyri is tempted to throw away everything that connects her to the “civilized” world.
True. But I think I’m more trying to say that Kyri might not be very happy being the keeper of the Endstone, the defender of humanity, or the dishwasher at the Stone Rocker Inn. In a way she’s a caged animal.
@Silly Name Hey glad you noticed Kyri’s “messy” side. I had fun drawing this page and contrasting Jon and Kyri’s characters. As for their relationship, let’s just say they are trying to “heal” things. We’ll see if they succeed.
Ah yes, the dirty little secret mentionned since long ago in her character profile… :p
Yes she’s listening to the “call of the wild.” 🙂

Looks about the right size to be a necklace, so most likely the Endstone.
End of Line
Yes it is the Endstone. 🙂 Kyri always wears it around her neck…. until she doesn’t.
You’re right, very last panel she ditched it. Holy crap that call of the wild is really making her irresponsible beyond even animal standards. xD

And yet doesn’t her wild world include sacred aspects and stonecraft too ?

Similar to dalmatian dogs adopted into families living in urban appartments, i guess…

Kyri… What are you doing? Kyri, why are you throwing the Endstone away?? Kyri, YOU KNOW THIS WILL NOT TURN OUT WELL.
Didn’t she just lecture Collindra about never taking stones off? Family squabble over hypocrisy in 5….4….3….
