Yes, being shot and recovering from death are certainly slowing Jon down. But also, unlike the two highly trained warriors and the super-human, Jon is just an ordinary guy.
Good point. π I figured later that Jon, out of pride, told Kryi that he could make it on his own. But now that I think about it, it would have been visually better for Vandric to be carrying Jon on this page. Humorous too. Oh well another missed opportunity….
Sorry, this model of Vandric the Grim is not rated for passengers. But! If you call now, you can upgrade to the deluxe version! Not only does it include a passenger seat, but it comes with a minibar and jacuzzi! Don’t wait, this offer expires in thirty seconds!
Never heard of that one before ? The vinyl scratch is a classic sound effect used when a serious speach is abruptly interrupted by a joke or something silly. π
In this case I see the camera still focusing on Kyri when we hear Jon’s short line, then the background musics stops in its tracks, replace by the sound effect, while the camera switches to Jon. π
Aww, sucks to hear that about the forum (see last page’s comments). Ah well. Anyways, I still do like the idea of putting together an Endstone game (comments of this issue’s cover), so I’d be willing to run a private (Fans & Tony only) Steam group (they have a forum-like system within groups) to discuss ideas or something (if anyone’s interested). IDK, thoughts, people?
Also – Tony, secondary benefit of making a game is that you would get a chance to shift around chapters (I know you said multiple times you were unhappy with the flashbacks) and see how people react BEFORE having to re-write half your comic to do so. Also, you’d be able to throw in all those “cut due to time” things you’ve mentioned over the years. Just to name two reasons you should be involved :).
Plus, finished my latest ArchiveDiveβ’ π (still no idea why I’m spelling it like that). It’s truly amazing how much one forgets as time moves by. And Tony, you’re welcome for the reminders of all those old, unfixed spelling errors :P. Always happy to help.
I’ve been wondering for a long time what had happenned to the forum, since i had had no word of it being removed.
I have to strongly disagree with both Tony and Nyerguds on its usefulness, since comments mostly limit the topics to the current page. I’ve been forced to silence most of my endstone theories because of that.
As for the spam, that’s wierd. From my experience, the rare occasion when i had a spammed forum was when the security measure were offline for some reason. I know it would not happen on its own, as not only no bot can go through a well enough done security grid, but it can even discourage most human spammers and limit the area of damage of the rare persistent ones.
DarthNSupreme, the idea of using a private Steam group as a think tank basis is great, count me in. I’m still busy with my developper training courses at the moment, but still, count me in. I’m no graphist/designer though, nor sound engeneer. :-Β°
I agree with the statement of the chance to shift around flashbacks. In fact, the game is a complete different form of expressing the same story, so it’s not bound to the flashbacks and narration styles the comic has to follow. Better, you’ll get to expand the story, with more storytelling about things you had to rush a bit in the comic, as well as new stories to add.
If you folks want to start a game that’s cool with me. You can use the characters, but my time is limited and I know nothing about Steam or how any of that works. I’m not much of a gamer these days either, but you have my blessing.
Also, if any of you want to reboot the forum I can give you the “keys” so to speak, and supply the hosting. but I don’t want to run it. Shoot me an email (from the contact link) if/when you want to do it.
I believe i’m already a forum member there, although i did not store the forum url in my bookmarks, relying on the endstone website menus. A mistake, apparently… :p
Ok, such a Steam group has been created. It is under the name “Endstone Game” and SHOULD show up in a search of Steam groups. As I have been having problems inviting people to things, I have (against my better judgement) made it freely open for all to join UNTIL Wednesday, 2014 June 08, 12:00 PM Eastern Time (GMT-0500). Opportunist spammers be warned, I will be policing it relentlessly with a +5 Holy Shocking Burst Banhammer of Giant Bane during this time. I know that none of you would ever do that, but the Internet is a big place. The group has a poorly cropped grab of the Montigue family as seen in the corner of the Endstone covers as its group image. I would be more than happy to replace it with anything better that anyone has.
@Tony
I wasn’t necessarily saying that you should help WRITE a game, just that this is your chance to alter/add things to the Endstone universe that were never added to the comic proper. Even just poking your head in now and then with a bullet list of “what-ifs” and “I was sad having to cut these bits” would greatly improve our ability to even try and properly represent your work. It’s the little things, as you so well know. π
Eh, that would ultimately be up to you. On one hand, it’s a great central location for any gaming-related activities that choose to use the platform, akin to the PSN or XBOX Live on consoles. On the otherβ¦ I’m actually a bit biased here and did not come with a flip side. Oh well.
If you would only use it to pitch in with an Endstone game, I would say probably not. Although it would give you the opportunity to explore what Steam can do for gaming. IDK, I’m terrible at giving neutral advice regarding things I’m biased towards. π
All those three-martini lunches GATES made him think he had are clearly catching up to Jon.
I’d say it’s recovering from being shot dead, of course, but when did that ever slow a hero?
Yes, being shot and recovering from death are certainly slowing Jon down. But also, unlike the two highly trained warriors and the super-human, Jon is just an ordinary guy.
Kyri told John that Vandric was going to carry him. Did Vandric refuse to do that?
Good point. π I figured later that Jon, out of pride, told Kryi that he could make it on his own. But now that I think about it, it would have been visually better for Vandric to be carrying Jon on this page. Humorous too. Oh well another missed opportunity….

That will be my whole comment on this one. π
Wait… ? π

LOL. Ok got it. π Sorry I made you explain it.
Haha, lol! I would not have thought of that myself, but it certainly fits!

Ya know, Darth, I would love to join but I don’t have a Steam. Should I make one in your opinion?
Eh, that would ultimately be up to you. On one hand, it’s a great central location for any gaming-related activities that choose to use the platform, akin to the PSN or XBOX Live on consoles. On the otherβ¦ I’m actually a bit biased here and did not come with a flip side. Oh well.

I wouldn’t mind “poking my head in” with advice if you get the game thing going. Let me know. π
I love how much Kyri is swinging her arms in the mini-flashback kind of thing. They’re like opposite angles. π
Also… Did I mention…
Much dramatic charging through the forest? XD
