A little “Director’s track” comment for those of you who are interested:
Bennet Quandel was actually supposed to be one of the main characters in the story. In Issue 2, he was originally written to join Kyri in her quest to locate the Banestone-rocking Colindra and the “vegetized” Lord Quandel. Ben, along with Kyri and Herrik, was also supposed to fight Colindra in Issue 3.
But alas, things get cut and since I felt there were already too many characters, Ben was a victim of the editing process. He still has a part to play in this story, however.
Oh, David, i can still see a much biger role for him. A role he has already started : balancing out his sister’s dark side. The new Queen has been stated in earlier chat to be the main villain of a future story arc, probably even the next one. 🙂
“What kind of Creature”? For me Simon looks like a human in wierd clothing and with a Wierd Helmet. But then again 2 of 3 wielders of the Banestone wore wierd clothing (Mailman Uniform and Banker Suit are wierd for this world; Cole just wore revaling clothing).
Given all the higher animals in this world, my guess is Bennet’s not jumping to conclusions. Those odd projections atop Simon’s head might just be part of a helmet, but they might be something else, too, especially since they’re glowing, something the average helmet probably doesn’t do.

So far his part to play looks like distract the main villain so he doesn’t make planned getaway.
The smart plan would be to stop time and run, but the ego plan is to play god and show off how you can crush an army that doesn’t matter much.

I wonder if Simon is exempt from the “battery life” limitations or if he’s just forgetting about it because of the power rush…
Wow, Simon has god-like powers in this world? That’s gonna be … interesting … to say the least.
