Greetings fellow stoners!
I'm Costas,male,38 years old,married,with a kid on the way.
Did various jobs, but my area of expertize is retail sales and store management.
My secret ambition though,is to make a living by doing what I love most-Music.
Although I'm far from being a Rock Star, under the alias Holopain,I have managed to reach some audience beyond the borders of my country (Greece),collaborate with musicians, meet very interesting people and have a good time.
Very little money is made out of this, but I am not complaining.
My second love is Books.Thousands of them.Literally.Mostly Fiction and this is where "Endstone" enters.
I like comics, but due to my love for Fiction literature I am very picky-I despise poor stories, even if the drawing is great.
(BTW-this is my point of view in music too-I can forgive performance mistakes if the composition is good, but I hate perfect performances on bad compositions and unfortunately, this has become the norm.)
What drew my eye to "Endstone",was the B/W drawing, the clear, strong lines and a really good sense of motion.
However, visual art alone cannot keep my interest.
What made me an "Enstone" fan,is the quality of the story itself.
Let's face it-take a look at the world of online comics.
It's all a variation of the "Boy-meets-Girl" plot.
Sure,it can be a "Boy meets Boy",or "Girl meets Girl",or "Boy meets Girls" or "Girl meets Boys".
Usually,Fiction is involved in this as "Boy meets Alien Boy,Alien Girl or Alien/Demonic/Angelic Whatever and the whole world/their parents/government officials go against them because their union is forbidden/will produce an offspring who will change the status quo/they just hate their haircut".
This is hardly the case with "Endstone".
Sure, there is love.....but as in real life, love alone isn't enough.
There are a lot of levels in this story and what Tony has mastered,is that you can read the story in any level and enjoy it.
What do I mean about levels?
Well...the relationship of Jon and Kyri is one level...love couldn't keep them together, but is it really over?
Then it's the family relations....this family of stoners,is every counsellor's worst nighmare!
Moreover....Philosophy questions,as "Is there free will?".
Without taking into account that Gods are manipulating the wills and lives of the "Endstone" universe inhabitants
just consider the events in the life of every member of this Family and their allies-did they really have a choice?
And...What actions can be considered as "Sins"?
Is going against the will of Gods a sin?Even if that will is immoral?
As you might noticed,I left the fiction element for last,as it also raises a lot of questions, about the nature of the Universe and the volatility of Realty..Is reality something external, with an existence of its own?Is it something we make along the way, just by perceiving it?Is it something with its own existence, but volatile enough to be affected by our perception,as electrons do in atomic level?
I sincerely hope I didn't bore you to death with my fascination on "Endstone",but I felt I had to share one reason why I am here among you :-)
Another reason and equally important,is that although I haven't met Tony in person, due to an extensive exchange of e-mails about various stuff,I got to like Tony as a person and not just as the creator of "Endstone".
What occured from this exchange, you're to find out pretty soon!
PS: I have left some interests and achievements of mine unsaid-if if anyone is interested, post a comment and I'll reply ASAP :-)
