Ok, that went a little past commentary and into exposition. Which, sad to say, mars what has otherwise been great story development so far. I think it would have worked better if you had dropped it into the earlier strips. Have someone say something like “Most humans prefer animals to be voiceless.” And later put in a caption “Lord Quandel insists on protecting the rights of higher animals, an unusual stance for a human leader. As for hybrids, he treats them like regular people and won’t tolerate anything less from his subordinates.” That way the story can be complete, without interrupting the comic with large chunks of text.
I never really intended for my commentary to act as exposition to fill in gaps in the story. I was just trying to provide “extra info” to hopefully generate some discussion. And even then, I wasn’t sure about leaving commentary in the first place.
I went ahead and deleted the commentary. From now on I’m just going to let the page speak for itself. Any other issues or questions can be brought up in the discussion section. Thanks for pointing that out.
